Our judges made difficult choices, picking 20 finalists for each season from over 600 photo entries. Many thanks to everyone who submitted photos! As always, the photographers have “outdone themselves”.
Voting will be open through Sunday, June 11, 2017. Winners will be announced soon after that.
Saturday – Few clouds; A step warmer; High in the mid 60s; Low in the lower 50s
Sunday – Scattered afternoon clouds; Pleasant; High in the upper 60s; Low in the mid 50s
A front approaches from the Ohio River Valley overnight and moves through the Southern Appalachians Tuesday. Showers and storms will persist this evening, tapering off tonight.
Drier weather is coming for a couple days. Tuesday might start with a stray shower but most of the day will be pleasant. Wednesday looks dry and somewhat cooler.
The coolest day of the week will be Thursday. Low pressure off the Carolina Coast draws moisture and clouds into the Southern Appalachians with a few showers.
Friday through Sunday, the center of high pressure slides into the Southeast from the Great Lakes. Tuesday’s front will be in Florida. Temperatures will rebound in stepwise fashion this weekend. Moisture will increase by late weekend as the front in Florida edges northward. But maybe we can hold shower activity off until next Monday.
