We invite you to register for a visit Monday – Friday at 10:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. or on specified Saturdays for a TROY Tour or Trojan Day event.

TROY Service Centers meet the needs of working adults, including military, government agency civilians, teachers and future business leaders who want the opportunities that come with earning a degree. Because adult learners often have different educational needs than traditional students, courses are provided at times and in formats designed around people who work and have other commitments for their time.

Master of Public Administration

Whether you re seeking employment with a federal, state or local government or non-profit agency or desire to serve in the public sector or as a private sector employee working with or for a government entity, Troy University s Master of Public Administration excels in training public leaders and provides an excellent foundation for a career or advancement in public service.

While many students pursue the MPA to enhance their opportunities for promotion and advancement within their current organization, graduates of the program regularly find jobs such as policy analysts, program managers, grant writers, researchers, budget analysts, healthcare administrators, personnel specialists and law enforcement administrators. Combined with previous experience, the MPA degree equips graduates to rise to upper-level, supervisory and administrative positions within governmental or nonprofit organizations.

An MPA degree from TROY ensures prospective employers that graduates have been equipped with the skills necessary to advance their organization.

A versatile degree program, the MPA is conveniently offered in class, online and through a blended program option. This degree, which requires 12 courses (nine core courses and three concentration courses), can be completed in as little as 15 months. Students may need to complete an internship if they have not worked a minimum of 1 year in a paraprofessional, professional, technical or supervisory position related to public administration or nonprofit work. TROY s MPA program strives to develop student skills and abilities to meet the ever-changing environment of the government and nonprofit sectors. The program will assist students in developing an understanding of context and sound judgment, a sense of mission and ethics, problem-solving skills, the flexibility and adaptability to tackle a variety of issues and challenges, management abilities, an understanding of politics and government and a motivation to serve.
